Biography:

Women and the Comics (Eclipse Books, 1985) by Trina Robbins and Catherine Yronwode.

Notes:

Patenaude is often incorrectly described as a woman, Ramona, using a man's name. Who's Who and Lambiek Comiclopedia both identify Patenaude as a woman. Patenaude's nephew (http://errors.comics.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11665) confirms that Patenaude was a man. It is unknown where the idea that Patenaude was a woman originated.
