Biography:

While still studying at the Gemeentelijke Academie Wetteren (1973-1974), Yan Gevuld, then still under his real name Guy Van de Velde, was published in the Dutch language version of Spirou magazine, Robbedoes (1974). After finishing his education at the Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten Gent (1977-1978) and the Rijksnormaalschool Gent (1978-1980), he started working in comics and advertising. He became best known for working on comics supplements for various newspapers, 'Stripkrant' (1983-1984) and the free daily newspaper Metro, 'Uitkrant'. While focusing on advertising work, often in comics form, he honed his craft. After several years doing commercial work, he returned to comics in 2011 with characters such as Razor and Grueson, the latter which he publishes himself.
