Biography:

Veteran of the First World War. Joined the Kansas City Star (Kansas City, Missouri) newspaper as advertising illustrator in 1915. Became the Star's editorial cartoonist in 1931 until his retirement in 1963. Received honors from the U.S. Treasury Department for his Second World War cartoons done on behalf of the National War Savings Program.
