Biography:

Charles H. Wellington started his career in 1903, working as an illustrator for the St. Louis Republic and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. From 1904 to 1907 he was doing work for syndicate World Color Printing. By 1908, he was working for the Memphis News-Scimitar. His style attracted the attention of newspaper tycoon Henry Stoddard, who offered him a job at the New York Evening Mail. While in New York, he also produced cartoons for the New York World, Evening Journal, New York Globe, and the McClure syndicate.

In 1925 Wellington moved to Hollywood, California, with his wife but continued to work for the New York syndicates.

Wellington created a strip called 'Pa's Imported Son-In-Law', which changed its title to 'That Son-In-Law of Pa's!' when it moved to the New York Tribune newspaper. Later on, it was renamed once again to 'Pa's Son-In-Law'. The strip ran until Wellington's death in 1942.
