Biography:

López Espí starts his career in comics as an unpaid assistant to Tunet Vila. In 1953 he starts his professional work drawing war stories for Editorial Symbol. His work also appears in the series La Atlántida and Los tambores del Bruc for the newspaper Solidaridad Nacional and portraits for La Prensa. The following year he begins working for Josep Toutain drawing a western series Kit Colt. Later he drew romance comics for the British magazine Glamour, followed by western strips. During the 1960s, he started drawing for Bardon Art and Luis Ferraz, with whom he made the series 'Don Starr'. In 1966 he joined Ediciones Vértice and created covers for Marvel Comics reprints.
