Biography: Wilder worked as a technical illustrator, visual media coordinator, and publications specialist for Lockheed Aircraft, RCA, and General Electric. He spent seventeen years as information specialist for the CIA.

He worked as a cartoonist and teamed up with Bill Rechin and Brant Parker to create Crock comic strip in 1975 for King Features, with Wilder as writer and Rechin as artist taking over the strip in 1977 and continued until Wilder's death in 2008. From 1986 to 1993, both also created the humorous sports panel for King Features, Out of Bounds.
