Biography: Son of Charles M. Quinlan Sr., he helped his father writing stories while still in high school, in the 1940s. After he served as an aviator in the U.S. Air Force for nine years, and worked in the ferry trade of the British Virgin Islands also in the charter sailboat industry, and as research adviser on the 1993 restoration of the USS Constitution. Born in New York, he was a longtime resident of Portsmouth, NH.
