Dave Stevens (b. 1955)

Biography:

Dave's work first appeared in Starslayer (Pacific Comics, 1982 series) #2 (April 1982). He is best known for his creation, The Rocketeer, and for his renderings of "good girl" art. A true comics artisan, he mastered every aspect of comics storytelling. Mike Richardson said of Dave Stevens, "Due to his ability to capture every nuance of his subjects and the times in which they live, one would swear the author himself must have lived during the 1930s to be able to breathe that much life onto the printed page... His incredible success is matched only by his humble charm and keen sense of humor."

Notes:

To be confirmed against the Who's Who entry. Page 148 of The Rocketeer: The Complete Adventures (2009) states that Dave Stephens passed away on March 11, 2008.
