Born: 1926 August 15 in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, United States

Died: 1996 June 2 in United States

Biography: Biographical information:
Invisible Men: The Trailblazing Black Artists of Comic Books (Yoe Books; IDW Publishing, 2020) by Ken Quattro

Notes: To be confirmed against the Who's Who entry.

Not to be confused with children's book illustrator Ezra Jack Keats. Not to be confused with Myron Fass who supposedly used Ezra Jackson as a pen name, though it is likely the work was actually Jackson's.

Jackson used the pen name of Whit I. Jackson and Ezra Whiteman in conjunction with Maurice Whitman.

Ezra Jackson's work has been confused with Ezra Jack Keats's work by Jerry Bails' Who's Who. Bails has Jackson working for Beck-Costanza Studio in 1943, but according to Jackson's biography in Invisible Men: The Trailblazing Black Artists of Comic Books (Yoe Books; IDW Publishing, 2020) by Ken Quattro, Jackson's first comic book work was not until late 1944 after he graduated from the High School of Industrial Art in New York City in June 1944. Ezra Jack Keats has been confirmed to have worked for the Beck-Costanza Studio in 1942 and 1943 before joining the U.S. Army in April 1943.

Also, the listing of Jackson using the pen name of Jack Keats by Bails is almost certainly caused by a similar confusion. Bails' lists Jackson working for the Iger Studio during the 1940s, but Ezra Jack Keats's 1940 draft registration card confirms Keats worked for Iger's studio in 1940 and this credit in the Who's Who is likely a similar confusion of names by Bails.

The following credits in the Who's Who is likely Keats as well and should be disregarded here for Jackson:
