Biography:

Phil Boyle worked as a ghost artist for Ham Fisher on Fisher's comic strips including Joe Palooka in the early 1930s, returning to assist Fisher after Al Capp left the position in the mid-1930s. Boyle returned again to ghost assist Mo Leff on Joe Palooka during the 1950s.

Boyle overcame a disability caused by polio as a child to become a cartoonist.
