Biography:

Cartoonist. The first black woman with a nationally syndicated newspaper strip with "Where I’m Coming From." The strip debuted in 1989 in the Detroit Free Press then went national a few years later with the United Press Syndicate, running in over 100 newspapers nationally and overseas.

Brandon-Croft did a cartoon feature for Élan magazine (OAO Coporation, 1981 series) in 1982. She became a fashion and beauty writer for Essence magazine (Essence Communications, 1970 series) from 1983 to 1989. Brandon-Croft has done freelance illustrations for several magazines.
