Biography:

Johnstone & Cushing was an art advertising firm that, from 1936 to 1962 did comic and cartoon artwork for advertising, especially comic strip section advertising and comic books. Eventually, Johnstone & Cushing would become involved in creating giveaway and premium comic books.

Their own advertisement that appears in 1953 indicated that they made comic books for, "...industry - public relations - education - employee relations - community relations - reports, advertising - merchandising - premiums."

Johnstone & Cushing could "...furnish art - copy and art - or the complete package", i.e. copy, art, plates, and printing.

The company was sold to Al Stenzel in 1962 and was rebranded as Stenzel Productions.
