Artist was incorrectly named Jesús de la Peña Santiago Rego by Jerry Bails (and other sources). He has also been incorrectly referred to as Jesús Suso Rego.
Suso wrote about himself in an Artist Profile that appeared in Scream #2 (October 1973, Skywald):
“I was born on June 2nd of 1941 at nine in the morning. I think the sun was shining, although I don’t remember very well. Anyway, I’m Gemini, and, according to the astrologists, very fortunate. They gave me the name Jesús Manuel Peña Rego, but since that was too long for somebody as small as me, I was reduced to Suso…”
