Maneely was a staff artist for the Philadelphia Bulletin (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), circa 1948.

Joe was a studio owner with partners George Ward and Peggy Zangerle.

Bails' Who's Who mistakenly lists the newspaper Maneely worked for as the Philadelphia Daily News.
