Biography:
Joye Hummel (later Joye Murchison Kelly), a former student of Wonder Woman creator William Moulton Marston, ghost-wrote a number of "Wonder Woman" stories between 1944 and 1947. She was 19 years old when she began, initially transcribing Marston's dictated story ideas. When Marston became terminally ill, Hummel gradually took over. Her first stories appeared in the Spring of 1945 in issue 12 of Wonder Woman.
Hummel was the first woman to write stories for Wonder Woman. At the time, she did not receive any recognition.
She retired shortly after Marston's death and married David W. Murchison. She later married Jack Kelly.

Hummel resigned from DC in 1947, not long after Marston's death, but her stories continued to appear in print into 1949. She is known to have scripted Wonder Woman stories for Comics Cavalcade, Sensation Comics, Wonder Woman, and for the newspaper strip.
