Edmund or "Chuck" Muenchow freelanced under the pen name of Moon or Moon Muenchow doing cartoons and illustrations for comic books and national magazines starting in the 1930s.
He served in the Information and Education Division of the U.S. Army from his November 30, 1942 enlistment until his discharge on February 8, 1946. During that time he was stationed at Camp Santa Anita and Camp Stoneman, both in California and at Camp Plauche in New Orleans, Louisiana.
From 1946 until his retirement in 1972, Muenchow worked for the Johnson Printing Company in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. After his retirement, he continued doing freelance illustrations as a greeting card designer and cartooning work.

Muenchow lived in Fall Creek, Wisconsin before dying at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
